2. Blackwatch Plaid Shirt $72
3. Perfect Chambray Shirt $68

I can't seem to get enough of collared shirts- they will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. This fall I have been pairing them with cozy sweaters. I love how a collar looks peaking out of a crewneck or an oversized cardigan.

LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME

It's always fun to take a look back at what you were up to a year ago- to see what has changed in your life and what things have stayed the same. Last year at this time the boy and I were about to head to NYC {blog post here}. It was the last time we were both there, now that I think about it. Maybe it's this painful 90 degree weather we've been having, but I can't stop thinking about New York in the Fall. Some of my favorite memories are from the times we've been there together. It's truly a magical place and I hope I'm lucky enough to make my way back there soon.

Any fun plans for the weekend? All I want is to be near a pool. Crossing my fingers I can make that happen. Happy Weekend! xx

SWEET SORROW

Came across these lovely photos by Portuguese photographer Teresa Q the other day. Since I am spending so much time behind the camera this week it's nice to be inspired by someone else's work. Go check out her flickr- it is full of romantic and slightly sorrowful images. Her tumblr is also a must follow.

I do apologize, this week has been so crazy I haven't had much time for blogging. Things should be a bit calmer the rest of the week. I booked myself a much needed Thai massage to help me relax. It is spa week after all! My favorite massage place, Thai Sabai is having a special deal- $50 for a 90min massage. It's too good to pass up!

SNEAK PEAK

This is a little sneak peak at what I've been up to this week. On Monday I photographed my dear friend's home (above), yesterday we shot the tutorial for "60's week" on Glitter Guide and today I am shooting a "style at home" feature for Glitter Guide. Is it really only wed? My computer wont let me upload any more photos to my desktop, which means it's time to get out my external hard drive and get to work. I do love my job though. xo

SWEET SOUND // VOLUME 1

I have a new addition to the blog for all you music lovers. There are few things in life that make me feel more connected to myself and to others than music. I had so much fun making my mix cd for Lauren's party {see photos here} that I decided to start posting "Sweet Sound", an 8tracks mix every other week. 'Cause who doesn't love a mixtape? This week is an upbeat mix of new and old music that makes me want to move. Enjoy!

I also wanted to reach out and say hello to all of my new readers. Thanks for dropping by, I am so happy to have you! You all make my day a little bit brighter.

LATELY

This week has been quite chilly and rainy in LA, which has been exactly what I've been longing for. It also ended up being a nice mix of both work and fun. I had a couple photo shoots, the boy and I started to rearrange the house a bit and more importantly I had one of the most incredible meals of my life, at Michael Voltaggio's newly opened restaurant Ink. Let me just say, if you are a foodie of any sort- make a reservation now. It will blow your mind. The meal alone made it hard to get rid of the grin on my face, but here are a few other things making me smile...

  •  Drinking my first pumpkin spice latte of the season and hiding out from the rain. Fall has finally arrived in LA, which hopefully means more rainy days and seasonal coffee's in my future.

  •  Getting cuddle visits from the neighbor's cat. Ever since I had to put my little Eloise down a year and a half ago, my life hasn't been the same. She was the love of my life. I still don't feel ready to adopt another pet, but getting weekly visits from Pussy {yes her name is really Pussy} has made me feel just a little more open to the idea.
  • Snuggling up on the couch with the boy, a beautiful bottle of rosé {a birthday gift from a friend} and re-watching the movie that made us realize we liked each other more then "just friends"-- 500 Days of Summer

  • Finding this brass table lamp at a thrift store on the 40% off table. Serious score!
  • Finally re-organizing "my" picture wall and making it "our" picture wall. Ever since the boy moved in we have been talking about rearranging things and making them feel more "us." But of course life got in the way and we put things off...until this week!
Happy Weekend! xo

Turkish Fouta $48.82

It's just starting to feel fall like in LA and I am loving every minute of it. My house is a fall house, or at least people tend to say that. During the colder months I want to stay in and entertain more, which is probably why my home feels autumnal. It's when I end up nesting the most. What about you, does your home feel like a particular season?

SWEET STYLE. VICTORY

Did you see my 1940's hair tutorial on Glitter Guide today? To show you how versatile the updated victory curl is I thought I would show you how I plan on wearing it this fall. I put on my favorite new coat, my most comfortable pair of loafers and headed out in the neighborhood to snap a few photos as the sun went down...

wearing:
f21 top {similar style} and trousers
vintage loafers {similar style} and belt
madewell and vintage bracelets
wendy mink and catbird rings

Can you believe it's the last day of September? My favorite month is upon us! Speaking of my favorite month, I better get thinking about my halloween costume. I always leave it until the last minute and end up regretting it. What are your plans for the weekend? This is the first in a while where we have no plans and I am kind of thrilled. Happy Weekend! xx

ONE MORE PLACE TO FIND ME

I just started a tumblr, well I actually started it a year ago, but never tumbled anything until a few weeks ago. It will be another extension of my blog, an inspiration board of sorts-- because juggling my blog, twitter, pinterest, facebook, glitter guide and photography just isn't enough. How long will it take before I have no semblance of a life outside of my computer? On that note, I am going to take a walk and get inspired by this fine city I live in. But while I am out an about, I'd love it if you'd let me know your favorite Tumblr blogs to follow!

COME RAIN OR COME SHINE

One. Kate Spade Umbrella $75
Two. Commuter Trench Coat $129
Three. Kate Spade Paige Rainboots $125

Four. Rubberized Jacket $129
Five. Owl Umbrella $30
Six. Hunter Gabby Boots $195

Seven. Clear Bubble Umbrella $18
Eight. Orla Kiely Birdwatch Raincoat $480
Nine. Mid Rainboots $115

While I sit here in this 85 degree LA weather It's hard to imagine cooler temps let alone rainy days, but my New Yorker sister made a special request for some rainy day outfit ideasApparently there are many of you gettin' soaked out there. While rain is not my favorite {bangs + rain do not mix}, I am craving anything that resembles fall. Enough to do a little impromptu flight search-- New York in the fall, yes please!

WANTED. CHAIRS

1. Mesh Chair $350
2. Silver Lining Chair $149
3. Herman Miller Swag Leg Chair $499
4. Acapulco Chair $532.61
5. James Side Chair $79

Do you have a favorite? I'll take one of each please! Good thing mixing and matching chairs in your home has an eclectic, I just picked these up at the flea market look that I love. And I love ANYTHING that means more chairs. If I gave in to my chair obsession I would probably have a house filled with them-- not very practical.

LATELY

This week has been busy and wonderful with a little bit of sad thrown in. My friend Teissia {wedding planner extraordinaire} who recently moved to NYC has been staying with us,  which is always a pleasure. James and I got to see two of our favorite bands in concert-- bliss! And my dear friend Lauren, who has decided to move back to DC had a going away dinner. I must say it is quite a strange time in my life. There has been a lot of change in a short period of time-- Three of my close friends have moved away, some are traveling the world for work, some are getting married and some are pregnant. I guess this is what happens in your late 20's. It's unpredictable times like these when you need to find comfort in the little things, so I will focus on a few that made me smile this week...

  • Seeing two of my favorite bands- Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver in concert. Also feelin' lucky to share it with my guy who loves the same bands as I do and is as passionate about seeing live music as I am.

  • The Loeffler Randall loafers and Madewell bracelet I've been eyeing-  birthday gifts from my mom and one of my friend's.
  • The Moroccan pouf I ordered back in July has finally arrived and looks so happy in my office.

  • Working on a crafting project with Teissia for an upcoming wedding she planned.
  • Rocking Sally Hanson Salon Effects gold sparkly nails for the week. Love these- they are so fun, just wish they weren't so hard to remove.
Do you have any fun weekend plans? My week has been pretty jam packed so I am looking forward to staying low key and going to see Drive tonight with a few of my friends. Happy Weekend! xx
