Happy Monday! This weekend I got to sneak off to the desert for one night to see Divine Fits with friends. It was a seriously incredible show, which I'm sure had something to do with being so close we we're practically on stage. It was so much fun that I'm not feeling quite ready for a new week just yet. How was your weekend?

SNAPSHOTS FROM APPLE PICKING

It feels like James and I have opposite schedules these days, so on his day off we decided to make it special and go on a little adventure. I'd been wanting to go apple picking for quite sometime, but the closest places are not actually that close. Since we had the entire day, we drove out to Riley's Apple Farm in Oak Glen, which is about an hour and a half from LA. The property is gorgeous and we spent hours wandering the orchards and gardens. The leaves were changing and it truly felt like fall. On our way back to LA we stopped at Mom's Country Orchards, which is the most adorable country store. I stocked up on apple cider, apple butter and the best pickles I have ever had. I highly recommend a stop at Riley's and Mom's if you ever travel to Oak Glen. 

**Sidenote: Now that I have so many apples, I'd love to start cooking with them. Do you have any favorite recipes?

How was your weekend my dears? Mine was quite lovely. I got to celebrate a friend's birthday and another friend's baby on the way. I have a baby shower to attend next weekend as well and I've got to say I sure love buying baby gifts. I think they're probably the most fun presents to buy, don't you? I also got a little holiday shopping out of the way. Believe it or not, I am almost finished altogether. I realize It's not even Halloween yet, but It feels so good to be ahead of the game. Especially since I have a lot of people to buy for, my boyfriend's birthday and our anniversary to think about. Do you like to get an early start on holiday gift buying or are you more of a last minute kinda person? 

SWEET STYLE. A GRAY DAY

We had the most amazing time in Marin this past weekend. We got to do non stop cuddling with the most adorable babies and I got the autumn weather I've been dreaming of. It seems the only time we can photograph style posts these days is when we go out of town. It's as good a time as any I guess, since the backdrops are ever changing. On this day, we drove to the Tomales Bakery for cheese sticks and hot apple cider and then later stopped by Hog Island Oyster Co. for some of my favorite kumamotos. It was drizzling and the trees were covered with the most vibrant red and orange leaves. I was in heaven...

I can't seem to get enough of collared shirts- they will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. This fall I have been pairing them with cozy sweaters. I love how a collar looks peaking out of a crewneck or an oversized cardigan.

Right now I am drawn to anything in the tone of falling autumn leaves. I just can't get enough rust, burnt orange and cognac. I am an earth sign after all. These colors feel so rich and comforting. CHIC OFFICE WEAR

This one's for my amazing friend getting her MBA at UCLA. She came to me wondering if I could do a post on office appropriate outfits. Like many other women, she struggles with what to wear to class or to work. She is no longer an undergrad (really girls, it's time to leave your sweats at home and wear something a tad more grown up) but, she is too young for the ol' power suit.
I decided to look at it from my perspective. What would I want to wear if I needed to look professional, but still stay true to my fashion sense. I was overwhelmed with all of the outfit combinations swirling around my head, so I will break it up in to two posts. I took 55 items (most under $100) and created 40 looks. --Ahhh its that time of year again! Autumn is upon us, the best time in my opinion to shop. Every September I still get that fluttery feeling in my belly that I used to get all those years ago when I laid my outfit out meticulously the night before the first day of school. Come on you all did it! Right down to the socks & undies:)


Fall always reminds me to dress like a lady, with all the lovely pencil skirts, high waisted trousers & nipped in blouses. Mind you most days I'm watching my almost two year old run at the park... but hey I can still be feminine & chic even on the playground!
