MARTHA'S VINEYARD WEDDING. SNEAK PEAK

Well hello there! I am back from an incredible week in Martha's Vineyard. Sigh. I want to thank Alisha Blanchard for guest posting while I was away. Thanks darling!
I have some fun posts coming up...the wedding, sweet style and even a "how to." Very exciting. Anyway since I just got in late last night, I need today to filter through the 400+ photos we took. Here is a little sneak peak of the wedding...

Come back tomorrow for more photos from Martha's Vineyard. xx

GUEST POST. OH BABY! {PART 2}

While I'm in Martha's Vineyard I have asked one of my closest, most stylish friends Alisha Blanchard to be a guest blogger. Enjoy!
Here is Part 2 of my favorite baby items for all you moms or mom's to be. I have most of the items listed, save for a couple and I can attest to them all. They're stylish, well made, functional & have been used time & time again...

GUEST POST. OH BABY! {PART 1}

While I'm in Martha's Vineyard I have asked one of my closest, most stylish friends Alisha Blanchard to be a guest blogger. Enjoy!

Happy Monday! I've decided to make a list of my favorite tried & true baby (mostly girl) items. I have most of the items listed save for a couple and I can attest to them all. They're stylish, well made, functional & have been used time & time again. Im a believer in investing in good stuff (should I just say expensive;) because hey lets face it nobodys lookin' at the mama anymore haha!! Its sad but true....once you become a mother you start ohhing & ahhing over baby gladiators & forget about your own feet! But hey thats life & I must say life is good....

 Bugaboo Frog $759

I hope I can inspire a few of you that are mothers or thinking of becoming mothers. Its the best & hardest job to love.

Come back tomorrow for OH BABY! part 2

GUEST POST. A LADYLIKE AUTUMN

While I'm in Martha's Vineyard I have asked one of my closest, most stylish friends Alisha Blanchard to be a guest blogger. Enjoy!

--Ahhh its that time of year again! Autumn is upon us, the best time in my opinion to shop. Every September I still get that fluttery feeling in my belly that I used to get all those years ago when I laid my outfit out meticulously the night before the first day of school. Come on you all did it! Right down to the socks & undies:)

Fall always reminds me to dress like a lady, with all the lovely pencil skirts, high waisted trousers & nipped in blouses. Mind you most days I'm watching my almost two year old run at the park... but hey I can still be feminine & chic even on the playground!

Here are my picks for Feminine Ladylike pieces to incorporate into your wardrobe, even if your big daily outing includes a stroller....

Happy Weekend! xx

I HATE PERFUME

Ok, I don't hate perfume, quite the opposite actually (for example here). A friend recently turned me on to this perfume shop CB I Hate Perfume in Brooklyn. Each name and bottle is cuter than the next...the descriptions conjure up memories of walking through the countryside, fresh cut grass or autumn leaves. With 35 different scents ranging in price from $50-75 you are sure to find one that is right for you. All perfumes are made in small batches and bottled by hand.

For example...

Cradle of Light: Cradle of Light is a glorious blend of pure white flower absolutes: Moroccan, Indian, Egyptian and Tunisian Jasmine Grandiflorum, Indian Night Blooming Jasmine, Jonquil, Narcissus, Tuberose and White Lotus. The bouquet is set against a green background of Sumac, Tomato and Violet Leaves with a hint of Galbanum and grounded in a base of Sandalwoods and CBMUSK.
The scent begins with a fresh green presence; gradually the flowers emerge becoming warmer and richer. Cradle of Light is a supremely elegant perfume with a serene and euphoric effect. Wearing it can be slightly hypnotic...

M3 November: Pumpkin Pie, Fallen Apples, Bonfire, Wood Smoke, Dried Grass, Fallen Leaves, Wet Branches, Damp Moss, Chanterelle Mushrooms and a hint of Pine Forest

Greenbriar 1968: This scent is a memory of my Grandfather, the sawmill that he owned and the stone house where he lived.
It is blended with Sawdust, Fresh Cut Hay, Worn Leather Work Gloves, Pipe Tobacco and a healthy amount of Dirt. There is also a faint whiff of cotton overalls covered in Axel Grease.

Burning Leaves: The smoke of burning maple leaves - pure & simple

RUE MAGAZINE. GET THE LOOK

Have you checked out the premiere issue of Rue Magazine yet? It has already become one of my favorite new online mags. The magazine is chock full of home inspirations and beautiful photographs, but I kept going back to blogger Victoria Smith's San Francisco bungalow. I have not loved a home quite this much in a while. She has done exactly what I try to do in my own home, combine vintage and modern with a little bohemian flair...

WEDDING WEAR. AUTUMN

My family, boyfriend and I are all off to Martha's Vineyard tomorrow for one of my closest friend's weddings. She has known me since the day I was born and is practically family, so I'm sure to shed a few tears. I've been looking forward to being in Martha's Vineyard in September for a while. It will be fun and different to see my favorite island a little calmer and cooler.
It took me a while to find the right dress for this occasion. There were more than a few variables...I knew it would be chilly at night, so I looked for a maxi dress, we'd be on grass, meaning wedges preferably, I also didn't want anything too trendy or fancy. Alas I found my dress, and it was on sale. Hooray! I promise to take photos while I am there!
While searching for me, I came across an array of wedding appropriate garbs suitable for any and every type of girl...

Earthy: Silken Stitches Dress $168, Elegant: Watercolor Folds Dress $348, Vintage: Mullany Dress $258

Some Sweet and Sparkly Accessories...

{I'll be posting while I'm in MV and there will be some fun guest posts too, so stay tuned! xx}

PYRAMID SCHEME

Both my sister and I love anything in the shape of a triangle or pyramid. We have all heard of the healing properties of crystals. Not only have I seen them in the home, like these from The Selby...
Ive been seeing a lot of crystal jewelry too. Like this one on The Glamourai...
I'm loving the raw texture of the crystals. They make me want to wear Mara Hoffman and take a road trip to New Mexico...

SWEET STYLE. BLACK AND GOLD

Since my photographer/boyfriend is still in NYC, I haven't done any style shoots of late. Then I remembered I have an extremely talented photographer for a father. Lucky me! While assisting him on a photoshoot yesterday in Venice, I asked him to snap a few shots of my outfit. It was chilly and gray in Venice, very fall like weather, so I wore a hat and my new Dolce Vita for Target boots...
wearing:
hat from coin in italy
feather necklace made by my sister
ring From bhavantu in ojai

Thanks Dad!

SNAPSHOTS FROM THE IFB CONFERENCE

I am back from my short by sweet NYC adventure. Sigh.
While attending the IFB conference I was photographed by both Shopbop's blog and the street style blog Swagger, which was very exciting. I think it was my F21 hat...
(Top and Trousers from Zara, Hat from F21, Necklace from Fenton/Fallon for J. Crew)

Here are my photos from the IFB event...

I had so much fun this trip! The weather gave me a little bit of everything, including a little rain. The IFB conference gave me some blogging inspiration, I got to revisit some favorite restaurants and bars, try some new ones, I did a little shopping at Topshop, saw my sister and some old friends. Pretty perfect.

It's hard leaving the fall feel in NY to come back to 80 degree weather in LA. Ah well, I get to travel back east to Martha's Vineyard later this month for a wedding and then I will be back in New York next month. The leaves will be changing and the air will be cooler. It is my favorite time of year!

GLOBETROTTER

I am feeling like such a globetrotter with all the traveling I've been doing, so I thought I would go with that theme and put together some globe inspired pieces for the home (which I love ~ first shown here and here)...

Happy Weekend!!! xx

FASHION'S NIGHT OUT. LA

I'm excited for Fashion's Night Out tomorrow, happening in NY and LA! Not sure where I am headed yet, but I think I'll stop by Rebecca Taylor and then Opening Ceremony at The Ace Hotel with the boyfriend. Fun!
I'm in NYC for Fashion Night Out, but for all of you in LA tomorrow, the Phillip Lim 3.1 party will be the place to be.

Where: Phillip Lim 3.1 store ~ 631 N. Robertson Blvd, West Hollywood
When: Friday September 10th 7-10pm

There will be burgers from The Patty Wagon, tequila courtesy of Patron, and Myles Hendrik will be spinning all night long.

PACKING FOR NYC. FASHION WEEK

Well I am off to NYC today for the IFB Evolving Influence Conference and for Fashion Week. What an exciting time to be in New York! I can't wait to meet my fellow fashion bloggers at the IFB event.
Packing for this trip has not been easy. First of all trying to fit all my shoes in one medium sized suitcase along with outfits stylish enough for fashion week. Second, planning my outfits so I can just grab one that matches my mood and go...
OK, maybe ten pairs of shoes are too many, so I narrowed it down to six. I am also bringing two leopard tops ~ one from Topshop one from Zara, my Tucker for Target tank from here, two hats ~ one F21 and one from Coin in Italy, my favorite sequin jacket from Topshop, lots of emerald green and my most favorite addition...my Fenton/Fallon for J Crew Necklace (a birthday gift from my girlies).
(Toiletries from here, Nail Polish first shown here, Necklace and Bracelet from J Crew, Rings from here and here)

There will still be daily posts while I am gone. So check back! xx

NEW TARGET ADDITIONS

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I had such a fantastic birthday!!! Dinner at Palate, drinks at Cole's, homemade cake...it was perfect. I ended up pulling out one of my favorite new purchases to wear to my friend's BBQ yesterday and I knew I had to share. It's one of my four recent Target obsessions. Gilt has something to do with that I must admit, since I purchased three of those Target items through Guilt before they hit stores. Here is what I bought...

My love of feathers continues (with birthday flowers and tea light candle holders from Crate and Barrel)
(with a Nell's Compass Candle and my mom's old Seventeen covers)
Tucker for Target Butterfly Printed Tank $22.99 (hits stores Sep. 12th) Looks amazing tucked in to a pair of high waisted pants
OK the gold buckles are very gold, but the boot is made extremely well for the price and I'm hoping they fade with wear. Other than that they are pretty freaking rad. I also recommend the lace up boot after seeing them in person, very classic.
Hmm, I think I made some good choices considering the John Derian trays are both sold out already. Ebay it is I guess. Make sure to look for Tucker for Target Sunday the 12th in stores and online and Dolce Vita for Target already in stores.

BIRTHDAY WISHLIST

Not only is it Labor Day weekend, but it's also my birthday weekend. This past year has been my best by far and I am excited to see what's in store for me this year.
Here is a collection of sweet things I am currently obsessing over this birthday...

Happy Holiday Weekend!! xx

HELLO KITTY!

How is it September already?! Autumn is quickly approaching and leopard prints are showing up everywhere. Hold on to your leopard girls because it seems to be one of those trends that consistently comes back every few years...
