Finding the perfect black ankle boot has proven harder than expected. The ideal heel height and the taper of the boot are both factors in deciding on a pair. Those Rachel Comey Mars booties have been on my list for quite sometime, but the price is a little hard for me to digest. One day I'll bite the bullet, but for now I really like the simplicity and the price of those "sweeter" boots. Do you have a favorite?

Happy Labor Day! So far New York has been ridiculously fun, we've eaten at many incredible restaurants, like Red Rooster, Roberta's, Prune & Lupa,  had cocktails on the roof of the Soho House & the Wythe, saw this seriously unique show, saw these two bands play {I, II} and picnicked in central park. It doen't stop there, because today we're moving to a hotel for the next two nights in Nolita. We've been staying up in Harlem, and while I love it here, it's far away from pretty much everything we want to do. 
How do you plan on spending your holiday? I'm hoping to have a pretty low-key day. I need to save up a little energy for my birthday tomorrow, right?

Happy Monday! I'm headed to New York City in less than a month to celebrate a very big birthday, so I've been searching for both chic and comfortable flats. You can never have too many of those, right? Even if I go out in heels in New York I've learned to always bring a pair of flats in my purse, just incase. 


How was your weekend? Mine was super low-key, but lovely. I spent most of it cooking at home, catching up on work and watching the olympics. I'm not much into sports but I do love the summer olympics. Don't you?

Since the 4th of July is only a few days away I had to do an American inspired Sweet Sweeter Sweetest. Usually I spend the 4th with my family in Martha's Vineyard, but this year James and I decided to go later in the month when things slow down slightly. This year we're going to be very American, and see a baseball game with friends to celebrate. I hear they put on quite a fun fireworks show that I am seriously looking forward to, along with cold beers and spending time with some of my favorite people. What are your plans? Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty great. I spent most of it with my friends in town from the east coast. I took a few days off from the computer to really just relax and socialize with my friends. It was very refreshing. Of course now I have to catch up a little on work stuff, but it was completely worth it.

Hello my loves, how was your weekend? The weather was quite literally perfect here and I made sure to take advantage of it. On Saturday I spent time with friends wondering around Venice and enjoying delicious food. Saturday night James came down with food poisoning so I spent most of Sunday at home with him. Even though we stayed in, I made the best of the 80 degree weather by opening every door and window in our house, sipping iced coffee and putting on a sundress.

The weather yesterday was so incredible it made me want to pack a picnic, hop in my imaginary convertible and take a drive up the coast. I love spur of the moment adventures, don't you? Sometimes being a tourist in your own city reminds you how much you love it.
