INSPIRED BY VALLEY OF THE DOLLS

This past weekend I watched Valley of the Dolls, and although it's no cinematic masterpiece I was completely inspired by the fashion and beauty from 1967. I am a sucker for winged liner {tutorial here} and fake lashes and this movie has plenty of both. It also got be craving ladylike bags and statement earrings for fall. To me, the 60's will never go out of style.

ROCK & ROLL PHOTOGRAHY

Tomorrow evening I am attending the opening party for my dad's rock and roll photography exhibit at the Museum of Ventura County.  It will feature over sixty of his well known photographs of 1960's rock and roll legends. I have been archiving this collection for the past six years, scanning the original negatives, color correcting and retouching them back to their original glory. So this means a lot to me as well. If you live in the Ojai/Ventura area you should absolutely check it out. The exhibit will be up for public viewing May 6th-June 19th. My dad will also be giving two talks about his life as a celebrity and rock and roll photographer on Thursday May 26th at 5:30 and again at 7pm. He has had an incredibly interesting life and loves telling incriminating stories, so it wont disappoint. If you can't make it, you can still view and purchase his beautiful photos via guywebster.com

Just a few photos from the exhibit...

SWEET STYLE. MODERN ARC

The boyfriend and I have a love for modern architecture,  so on our way in to Palm Springs last weekend we stopped by the visitor center and picked up a map of noteworthy mid-century modern homes and buildings. Our last day in town we spent driving around, admiring all the vintage gems and imagining the Palm Springs life of the 50's and 60's. I borrowed this incredible vintage dress from my dear friend Kerry and  it fit right in with the scenery...
