I can't seem to get enough nude these days. It's the perfect neutral- it pairs just as well with bold colors like citron and orange as basics like black and white. It's a must this spring and it's popping up just about everywhere...

DOMINO. GET THE LOOK

I am so glad I held on to every issue of Domino Magazine, because I often find my self revisiting issues for design and decor ideas. At the time it came out, there was nothing like it. Domino seemed to "get" my style better then any magazine out there. I'll always miss opening my mailbox to find the newest Domino, but at least I have fabulous online magazines like Rue and Lonny who both give me insane amounts of inspiration. 
For this "get the look" I thought i would bring it back to an old favorite from the Domino archives. This porch is exactly where I want to be this spring, laughing with friends or curled up with a good book...

SPRING PLEASE

Somehow it's March already, but it sure doesn't feel like spring is on it's way. It has been down right cold in LA the last few weeks. In some ways I am totally enjoying this cooler weather. It's given me a chance to pull out my winter coat I don't get many chances to wear and have cozy fires in my fireplace. On the other hand, I just really want to start wearing pretty dresses and going for picnics in Griffith Park. So spring, please get here soon...

MY SWEETEST DAY WITH FIREFLY EVENTS

Who: Teissia Treynet, wedding planner/founder of Firefly Events and lover of the great outdoors

1. I'd start out having brunch at Fig Tree's Cafe on Venice Beach. They have the best smoothies and the people watching is one of a kind.


2. I love renting beach cruisers from Daniel's Bikes in Marina Del Rey and biking to Hermosa Beach. I rent from Daniel's because he'll let you keep the bikes after he closes, as long as you lock them up when you return. Then you can stay out as long as you want- just make sure you're ok riding back in the dark. The ride is nine miles along the coast, with a great ocean view the whole way.


3. I like to stop right before I get to the pier in Hermosa Beach to lay in the sand and play a little volleyball. 


4. Then I would head to Hennessy's Tavern for dinner and cocktails. Hennessy's is my favorite bar on the pier because they have a roof deck perfect for sunset viewing.


5. I'd ride back to Marina Del Rey, change clothes and head over to Harvelle's in Santa Monica for some live music. My friend's band plays soul/funk/r&b every Wednesday night. The cover is $7 and worth every penny. The music is not completely my style, but it's always fun and gets me dancing.

A LOVE LETTER TO LOS ANGELES


Hello there sweet things, I'm launching  a new weekly column  tomorrow called "My Sweetest Day" and I am awfully excited about it. WARBY PARKER 2011 COLLECTION

I felt utter delight when I opened my inbox yesterday to find an email from Warby Parker announcing their new 2011 collection. As a glasses wearer, finding stylish frames at affordable prices seems to be impossible. Last year I wrote about this brand that is changing that. All frames are $95 including prescription lenses, and for every pair bought, they donate a pair to someone in need.

HAPPYVALENTINESDAY

Happy Valentines Day! I am actually not a big Valentines person. Maybe because I've spent more Valentines Day's single then not. I'd rather be acknowledged by my guy on almost any other day and hey, why not everyday? I am however a huge fan of love in all its forms. Sometimes you need a reminder to step back and think about all the love you've got going on in your life. 
What are your plans for this evening? James and I are headed to see Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind at the arclight tonight. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. It should be fun to see it on the big screen again. It's not every ones idea of a romantic movie, but to me it's the most romantic.

HIGH GLOSS. GET THE LOOK

The premier issue of High Gloss magazine is out and I am thrilled to have another inspiring online magazine to look through. It covers fashion and home design- my two favorite things. The photos of Interior designer, Tia Zolden's Hancock Park home really caught my eye. I love the way she mixes prints and eras, so I thought I would turn it in to a "get the look." PS.
