THE HOMEGROWN COLLECTIVE

A friend of mine recently told me about The Homegrown Collective, which is a subscription service that delivers a themed "green box" to your door every month. Each box is seasonal and promotes a self-sufficient and sustainable lifestyle. I do my best to support a more eco-conscious way of life {I am from Ojai after all} and I thought I would share it with you. Such a cool idea right? I recently received the aptly named "How Sweet It Is" box which was filled with local honey, bee pollen, rose hips, organic essential oils and all the tools and instructions to make your own lip balm, salves and elixirs. Now that Thanksgiving is over, I am finally feeling ready to get in the holiday spirit and maybe even decorate a little. I'm really loving this white and turquoise color scheme. Would you try it, or are you more of a traditional red and green kinda gal? 

DRAWINGS BY MIKE MILLS

One of my most cherished gifts over Christmas was this book given to me by my boyfriend. It is a book of drawings from one of my favorite films of last year, Beginners. There are so many things to love about this movie, like Christopher Plummer or getting to see the LA I know and love, but my favorite part had to be the drawings. The director, Mike Mills drew all of them himself (he happens to also be an artist and graphic designer) and they are interspersed through out the film. If you haven't seen it, you must rent it immediately. I am sure you will fall in love with it as much as I did.


Any fun plans this weekend? Tonight we are going to dinner and then to see the film Pina, which is a conceptual dance movie. It looks so incredibly beautiful, I can't wait.

I saw these beautifully wrapped presents on oh, hello friend and was immediately inspired by their simplicity. It's that time of year again! I like to get a head start on holiday decor and gift wrap. Yes I am a Virgo!
